Hello,
Ping problems 999 are related to connections that have NAT.
You can solve this problem by performing port forwarding on ports standards gunz 7700-7800.
Or also activating the service called UPnP present in all modern routers.
Here are some tutorials that can help you:

Have you experienced this problem in the past or is it occurring after the update?

never had it in any gunz.. and its the first time  i play ugg i downloaded it yesterday after update.. maybe the updated caused it.
i enter the room everyone is nat and then i see the pings i can play normal couple rounds in tdm suddenly most of the players go 999..
also happen in cws. and the most wierd thing is that players from my country are 150 ping for me instead of 20 and players from canada/usa are 120 ping for me

Attempt the following.
Ensure your gunz file is in a separate folder.
Open task manager close any programs running in the back ground.
Make sure Gunz is bypassing your firewall.

View the following tutorial ensuring you did not miss any steps:

set Ingame ports to 7700-7800
